Postgraduate and Masters Programme in Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development


ISES was awarded a UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development in 2011. The UNESCO Chair complements the unique ISES – Corvinus postgraduate programme, the first of its kind in Hungary.

The programme offers students the opportunity to become trained professionals with the skills needed to preserve and protect cultural heritage for future generations. The programme provides a solid, interdisciplinary foundation for specialization in cultural heritage management and sustainable development.

The three-semester course starting in Autumn 2013 will focus on best practices of cultural heritage management in the Visegrad countries. Two semesters are required for course work on campus and online plus one semester for thesis writing and defense.


UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainability was established in 2011 at the Institute for Social and European Studies Foundation and the Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary).

The UNESCO Chair will complement the ISES-Corvinus postgraduate programme in Cultural Heritage Management & Sustainable Development, a unique program that is the first of its kind in Hungary. This postgraduate programme offers students the opportunity to become trained professionals with the skills needed to preserve and protect cultural heritage for future generations. The programme provides a solid, interdisciplinary foundation for specialization in cultural heritage, management and sustainable development.
