Architecture and Archaeologies of the Production Landscapes
University IUAV, Venice
18-19 October 2012

The International Conference, organized by the IUAV Research Unit “Architecture and Archaeologies of Production Landscapes", offers a cultural opportunity to investigate and discuss about the different lines of research and project's topics, focusing on recovery and regeneration of production's places and works of architecture.
The framework of the program aims at the establishment of a multidisciplinary and open laboratory, conceived by the Research Unit to define strategies, methods and design tools. Priority objective is to contribute in enhancing a diffused cultural heritage, composed of places and landscapes strongly featured by the production’s structures and processes. These sites are worth to be reinterpreted, both referring to their identity's and morphological features, and to ecological as environmental values.
Structured into thematic sections, the Conference, beyond the activities of the organizing group, presents an innovative reading of the process of recovering Venice's Arsenal, and finally explores many different fields between research and project with a trans-scale overview: Places and projects, as selected by the quoted Call, Agriculture Production Landscapes and Post-mining Landscapes.
