Alumni and students of the Erasmus Mundus Master TPTI (Techniques, Heritage, Territories Industry: History, valuation, Didactics) shone at the international workshop ‘Company Towns in the World: Origins, Evolution and Rehabilitation’ held at the University of Padua in Italy on June 29, 2012.
The workshop brought together leading experts in industrial heritage from around the world, including Italy, Algeria, Brazil, China and Argentina. Among them were former students of the Erasmus Mundus Master TPTI specialized in the preservation and enhancement of industrial heritage who are now PhD candidates at prestigious European universities. The students had the opportunity to present and discuss the results of their researches carried out for the completion of their EM degrees.
Out of the 22 papers, five were presented by EM students: Mohammed Rahmoun from Algeria (Le Company Towns nordafricane e il caso di Beni-Saf); Carolina Rosa from Brazil (Le Company Towns delMinas Gerais e di e Paraiba); Yang Yi from China (Le Company Towns di Shanghai) Camilla di Mauro from Italy (Company Towns in Sicilia: il caso di Grottacalda) and Alberto Manzini of Italy (Le Company Towns in Liguria e il caso della Val Bormida). They gave excellent presentations that sparked exciting debates.
After a long day of presentations and intensive debates, the speakers were invited to a dinner at the center of Padua. The evening ended as an Erasmus Mundus reunion at an authentic Italian gelato in the beautiful piazza of Padua.
