Great news for those interested in Portuguese cultural heritage! The result of an amazing project carried out by the Fundação Gulbenkian will be online starting tomorrow: the HPIP.
The HPIP (Heritage of Portuguese Influence / Património de Influência Portuguesa) is an interactive bilingual (in English and Portuguese) platform on the heritage of Portuguese influence spread throughout the world.
The heritage of Portuguese influence in South America, Asia and Oceania, and Africa, Red Sea and Persian Gulf will be available online, together with a glossary and images. The site will allow keyword search, but also search by category or on a world map with satellite imagery.
As the HPIP is a nonprofit project, the work is based on voluntary collaboration. Proposals (texts, correction of texts, etc.) can be submitted online, which is verified and validated.
Visit the website and in the meantime here discover the Portuguese architectural heritage around the world.
